Walk a Mile in Her Shoes® The International Men’s March to Stop Rape, Sexual Assault & Gender Violence is a project of Venture Humanity, Inc. a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit corporation.


Men literally walk one mile in women’s high heeled shoes to protest sexualized violence, educate their communities and raise money for chronically underfunded rape crisis centers, domestic violence shelters and other sexualized violence prevention and recovery services.

Since 1978, Yellow Brick House has been at the centre of addressing the issue of violence against women and children here in York Region. Every year Yellow Brick House provide four core support services to over 5,000 women and children facing violence and abuse.

Yellow Brick House’s four core support including:
1. Two emergency shelters, with 41 beds and 10 cribs
2. Outreach support that includes counselling, a 24 hour crisis and support line that receives over 2,500 calls a year, and legal support.
3. Reta’s Place, transitional housing developed to address the lack of affordable housing in York Region.
4. Public Education Program provides in classroom workshops to over 3,000 elementary and high school students a year focused around healthy relationships and how to identify abuse.
